Celebrating Father’s Day

Father’s Day dates back to at least the Middle Ages although here in NZ it seems to have started in the early 19oo’s after Mother’s Day started in 1908. It is celebrated on different days around the world. Here, of course, we celebrate it in conjunction with the beginning of spring, on the 1st Sunday of September.

That’s this weekend – Sunday 4th September 2016

It is a time to acknowledge fathers’, whether absent or present, living or deceased, active or inactive, involved or uninvolved. Our father’s and other ‘father figures’ in our lives, contribute a lot to who we are.

Happy Fathers’ Day to all Dad’s – know your influence is always present
