So much of life is routine – a necessary routine – daily living, work, family, friends, rituals/habits/traditions/practices we follow. The ‘ordinary’ may be a little different for each of us, but it is what keeps us going, and for the most part, expresses a lot of who we are.
But whatever our ordinary maybe, it is good to have break in the routine from time to time. For Dave & I recently, it was a wee holiday across the ditch. There was a purpose to the trip, to catch up with his birth Mum and half sister. We added a visit to a part of Aussie we hadn’t seen before which gave opportunity to catch up friends. It was only eight days, but it was great to get away.
Just three nights in Melbourne with great friends to show us around, it was fantasic. There is plenty more to see if we ever go back but we so enjoyed our time there. The architecture was amazing and such contrasts between old and new – even a vintage building inside a more modern tower. Amazing.
With a muso hubby, a highlight had to be ACDC Lane. This street is a changing canvas so we captured some of the images present on our visit.
We left the hustle and bustle of Melbourne and flew across county to reconnect with family. So neat to see them again. Hearing more of peoples stories is something I love and we were able to do that over the few days we had together. A highlight here for me was getting to South West Rocks and getting my feet wet. Loved it!
A short stop in Sydney and a look in at the Hard Rock Cafe and our wee break was done…
I love life and value the opportunities that come my way that enable celebration. Holidays are part of that. The everyday routines are a large part of enabling that.
Time to start thinking about the next thing on the calendar…
Hope you have something on yours you are looking forward to too… Coffee with a friend, a concert, a weekend away, time off work just to relax, or maybe to spend time in the garden, having a vacation or whatever – put some things in your diary. Changing the pace from time to time is good medicine.
